When Pamela Crouse enrolled in BYU-Pathway, she worked to develop more charity. She prayed daily to feel the love God feels for His children, and 鈥渢hings became easier for me. I actually developed the desire to serve others in the way they needed,鈥 she said.

Looking back on her experience, Pamela said, 鈥淚 had become closer to Christ.鈥 She also strengthened her relationship with Heavenly Father and shared the confidence she feels when praying. 鈥淸Heavenly Father] will help us through anything,鈥 she said.

Jimmy Abwao

Jimmy Abwao first learned about The Church of Jesus Christ after a friend invited him to enroll in BYU-Pathway. As Jimmy learned more about Jesus Christ, he worked to become physically and spiritually clean. Jimmy was baptized on April 20, 2024 and received his endowment on August 5, 2025.

Jimmy said, 鈥淚 can look back on the days before I made covenants with God and remember that I was not following the way of the Savior. Preparing to make covenants, and keeping them, has helped me to grow in virtue and have more confidence before God.鈥

As BYU-Pathway student Jessica Davila worked to repent and change old habits, she said, 鈥淚 noticed I had a strength 鈥 and enthusiasm 鈥 to study.鈥 With the added strength, Jessica completed PathwayConnect , the first year of introductory courses.

Later, Jessica lost her job, but she continued to feel an added amount of strength from Heavenly Father. She felt inspired to enroll in a degree program through BYU-Pathway and soon found a new job. Her experiences gave her confidence that Heavenly Father would continue to answer her prayers.

Confidence in the Presence of God

Just like Pamela, Jimmy, and Jessica, we can grow in our confidence before God by remembering the words of President Russell M. Nelson. His teachings can help us to draw nearer to the Savior. We are grateful for his life, his service, and his example.
