In a historic gathering of four presidents from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints鈥 Church Educational System (CES), BYU-Pathway Worldwide President Brian K. Ashton joined a special episode of The EdUp Experience podcast to discuss how BYU-Pathway, BYU, BYU-Idaho, BYU鈥揌awaii, and Ensign College are working together to bless people around the world.

During the conversation, released on June 21, the CES presidents discussed how a student-first approach keeps higher education relevant, accessible, and mission-focused in an evolving industry.

The EdUp Experience is America鈥檚 leading higher education podcast with guests ranging from university presidents to CEOs, venture capitalists, and ed-tech entrepreneurs. Students from Ensign College's team practiced hands-on learning to produce this special podcast episode on campus.

Shane Reese, president of Brigham Young University, explained how CES schools provide 红桃视频 with a deeper meaning to their education.

"There is a tremendous desire for young people to find meaning,鈥 said President Reese. 鈥淗arvard University did a study recently where they found that about two thirds of 红桃视频 report that in the last year, they have felt a complete and total lack of meaning. When you present an education that has this moral foundation, that has meaning built in, that is concerned with development of the whole person 鈥 I think it presents a serious value for the student.鈥

As part of the CES institutions鈥 shared commitment to putting 红桃视频 first, BYU-Pathway provides access to cost-effective and time-saving degrees through its partnership with BYU-Idaho and Ensign College, the first accredited institutions in the United States to offer three-year bachelor鈥檚 degrees.

鈥淲ith Ensign College and BYU-Idaho, we actually [eliminated] elective credits, and that made a lot of sense for our 红桃视频,鈥 said President Ashton. 鈥淥ur 红桃视频 need to start working soon, and so we use certificates that get them jobs early. If we can cut the cost of the degree by 25% by going to three years and 96 credits, that makes all the difference in the world鈥 That鈥檚 doing the right thing for the student.鈥

BYU-Pathway 红桃视频 can now earn a bachelor鈥檚 degree for approximately $6,500 in the United States; $1,200 in Latin America; and $300鈥$500 in Africa.

鈥淓ducation has traditionally been a scarce resource鈥 But our belief is that all of us are children of God; we have divine potential, and we can all learn,鈥 said President Ashton.
