Instructions for Discussion
Below are suggested questions you can ask ºìÌÒÊÓƵ to reflect on to help with your discussion. You may be inspired to ask different questions based on the needs of your group.
- How does knowing that senior church leaders have come from imperfect families who have struggled in the gospel help you when you feel that your own family may not be "ideal."
- When making decisions about how you want your own family to be, Elder Bednar used the phrases "It begins with you. and "It starts with you." How can you use your own agency to create a gospel-centered family that you want? Which scriptures or general conference talks have helped strengthen your understanding of agency and acting as an agent?
- Think about the definintion of understanding that Elder Bednar shared. He invited us to live worthy to have the Holy Ghost be the true teacher and witness the truths if the gospel in our homes. What is one thing you would like to try so you can have the Holy Ghost be more present in your own home this week?
- Elder Bednar taught of the power of consistency in doing the small things like prayer and Come Follow Me study in our homes. Please share an example of how small, consistent efforts to do these things are blessing you and your family.
- Honoring our covenants is one of the best ways that Elder Bednar said we can bless our family members. How do the covenants you make in the House of the Lord strenthen you through the challenges in your life?
