Students will use Structured Query Language (SQL) to analyze, design, and build database objects and structures that will provide efficient data retrieval. These technical skills will be enhanced with the soft skills needed to identify project requirements, communicate roadblocks, and present professional summaries that provide timely solutions to aid key stakeholders in decision making for the organization. Laptop is required (see Ensign.edu to find recommended specifications).

In this Course, ºìÌÒÊÓƵ will be immersed in an examination of what cloud computing is and identify the attributes that differentiate cloud services from hosted services. Students will identify the various types of cloud service models using the industry-standard syntax of aaS (as a Service) and explain how they relate to one another. In addition, ºìÌÒÊÓƵ will identify business drivers for cloud computing, such as reduced costs and increased efficiency. An exploration of cloud infrastructure planning, strategies for cloud adoption, and applications in the cloud will help prepare ºìÌÒÊÓƵ to deal with the challenges of cloud adoption. An essential aspect of the Course will include investigating cloud security models by understanding security, reviewing NIST cloud computing security standards, and exploring common security risks and mitigation. Laptop is required (see Ensign.edu to find recommended specifications).

Students in the course will be introduced to critical concepts of Linux administration, including installation, configuration, management, maintenance, monitoring, security, and troubleshooting. Successful completion of this course will prepare ºìÌÒÊÓƵ to take the CompTIA Linux+ Certification Exam.

Advisement Recommendation: It is highly recommended that a student have some background in IT or have taken IT 125 before taking this course.

A hands-on exploration of basic cybersecurity concepts including access control management in both a Windows AD environment as well as Linux. Explores security policies as well as perimeter, network, host and application defenses. Also provides hands-on labs to explore Kali Linux and IDS systems. Laptop is required (see Ensign.edu to find recommended specifications).

Explores the computational components of a computer system including electronics, memory, input/output connectors, and how a programmer can interact with these devices using basic programming skills. Laptop is required (see Ensign.edu to find recommended specifications).
